Forward Email

In this lesson, you will learn how to configure your Faith Mail to forward to another email account you manage. Warning: If you elect to forward your Faith Mail to another email account, you take responsibility to make sure that you manage this and make sure it works. For example, if you ever change your other email account, YOU must return to your Faith Mail account and reconfigure email forwarding or you will no longer receive important email communications from Faith Academy.

Note: By not signing in regularly to your Faith Mail, you will not be able to take advantage of some of the powerful features of our system, such as a Global Email Address List, shared Calendars, shared Documents, etc.

Sign into your Faith Mail account...

Using the Faith Mail credentials you received, sign into Faith Mail. For instructions on how to do this, please click here.

Open your Mail Settings page...

From your Faith Mail "mail" page...

  1. Click on the small gear icon in the top right corner of the mail page (see #1 above).
  2. Locate and select the Settings option from the pop-up menu. This will open your Mail Settings in the middle of your mail page.

Enter the Forwarding and POP/IMAP section of Mail Settings...

From the Settings link bar (highlighted green oval above), locate and select the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" section and click on it (#2 above) to reveal these settings.

In the Forwarding section...

In the Forwarding section, click the "Add a forwarding address" button (#1 above). This will open the "Add a forwarding address" pop-up window. In the space provided (#2 above), enter the email address to which you would like your email forwarded and click Next.

Confirm the forwarding address

Verify that the email address displayed (#1 above) is correct and click proceed (#2 above)

Configure forwarding options...

After confirming your email forwarding address, your Mail Settings page is displayed again. In the Forwarding section at the top...

  1. Select the radio button next to "Forward a copy of incoming mail to."
  2. Then use the pull-down menu (#2 above) to display the options for what to do with your Faith Mail after it is forwarded.
  3. The Faith Academy Information Technology Squad suggests that you select "mark Faith Academy Mail's copy as read." This will keep the Faith Mail conversations in your Faith Mail account, mark them as read, and send your forwarding address a copy. This is helpful if for some reason your forwarding breaks, you can always return to your Faith Mail account and see your mail.

Save your changes...and test...

After configuring email forwarding as desired, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the Save button (#1 above). This will save your changes and take you back to your Faith Mail Inbox.

TEST: Using another email account, send an email to your Faith Mail address/account (see the top right for your Faith Mail email address). Verify 2 things: First, confirm that your Faith Mail shows the message in your Inbox (depending on how you configured your forwarding options), and second, confirm that your Forwarding Address account also received a copy of the message. If things work as desired, Sign out of your Faith Mail. If things did now work, open your Mail Settings per these instructions and verify that your Forwarding Address was correctly entered.
